Please take a look around...on the Tour page you can see a "tour" of my classroom. This year I have a "I MUSTACHE you a question" theme. There are mustaches every where! The bulletin board has pictures of artists with mustaches asking questions about art. I even have a sign that says "Please raise your hand if you mustache a question." And I have had a student raise her hand and say "Mrs. Avery, I mustache you a question, but I will SHAVE it for later". I also put on my glasses that have a mustache attached when we review the essential questions in our lessons. So far we are having a great time with it!
As you can see, I have set up Art Galleries for each grade level K-5. If you click on the pages you can see what we are up to right now. Check back often! I have also set up a page that clearly states the standards for elementary art in our district. And lastly, I am working on moving the Mustang Museum over to this site so everything is in one place. You can follow this link www.mustangmuseum.shutterfly.com to see the other website until I can get it all sorted out.
The Positively Perfect Purple Pencil...
Not too long ago I ran into a former student that is about to graduate from college, and his first question was "Do you still have the pencil?" The pencil celebrated it's 17th birthday in August! I made it out of a carpet tube and each year it undergoes a face lift. It's 12 feet long and it takes two students to carry it. And in case you're wondering...NO it does not write :)
